Advanced Materials

➤ Anti-counterfeiting materials

The micro-nano optical manufacturing industry mainly utilizes micro-nano optical technology to produce optical films (devices) that possess special optical properties or present special visual effects due to micro-nano structures. At present, micro-nano optical technology has been widely applied in the anti-counterfeiting films of driving licenses and vehicle registration certificates. It is estimated that the average annual growth rate of China's driving license and vehicle registration certificate market will be 9.76% in the next three to five years. The tobacco and liquor industries are the main markets for micro-nano optical laser packaging materials. It is predicted that the average annual growth rate of the tobacco and liquor packaging material markets will be 4% and 20% respectively in the next three to five years.

➤ Restorable 3D artificial materials

By simulating the structures of seashells and human bones, nano three-dimensional manufacturing can produce artificial materials that are highly restorable and ultra-light.

➤ Ultra-light and high-strength ceramic materials

The hardness of materials is usually related to density. Using the three-dimensional laser direct writing manufacturing technology, it is possible to fabricate structures that have a low filling rate, are lightweight but possess high strength. By means of aluminum plating, materials with ceramic-like properties can be formed.

➤ Spectral polarization conversion materials

By using the nano three-dimensional manufacturing technology to fabricate three-dimensional metal spiral structures, the polarization direction of light can be changed within a broad spectrum range. Such materials can be applied in fiber anti-reflection, Fourier spectrometers and so on.

➤ Stealth materials

The nano three-dimensional manufacturing technology can change the transmission directions of external mechanical waves and light waves inside materials, and conduct forces in a directional manner like optical waveguides. This enables internal objects to be completely unaffected by external waves. The stealth materials manufactured by using the nano three-dimensional manufacturing technology have significantly reduced the probability of U.S. naval, ground and air force equipment being detected and locked by radars, thus gaining an overwhelming asymmetric strategic advantage. Metamaterial stealth technologies have been applied on both the U.S. F-35 fighter jets and DDG1000 large destroyers.
